Are YOU Really Looking in the Mirror?

Hey Fam,

How’s everything going? I pray that all is well and welcome to Friday afternoon!

It’s actually a super beautiful day where I am and it made me think about how I’m looking at the world. Really though, how I look at myself… Life is like that though. If you smile at world it’ll smile back at you, because at the end of the day how we view things is nothing more than how we view our situations. Perspective. Trust. Beauty… (shrugs shoulders) We must decide that for ourselves.

It’s something about beautiful days that cranks the gears of my imagination. Pushing me to examine thing I would have likely overlooked. Like smiling at the world, loving where now is, despite the fact that it doesn’t look like where you are going. It’s a thin line, not being comfortable enough to stay, but not being so uncomfortable that you jump the gun looking for a way out. Taking shortcuts not necessarily meant to be traveled and extending your journey to the promise. So SMILE!

And I don’t mean faking a smile through challenges you are going through! Kind of like a smile of appreciation, of gentle love, and determination. Not saying that you won’t have set backs (because you might), not saying that trials won’t come your way (because they will)… but it’s how we handle the things that try to strip us of our joy that determines how we look at everything else.

So really, WHAT DOES IT COST YOU TO SMILE?

If you look for trouble, I guarantee you’ll find it, and if look for hope in every situation you’ll find that too… some like to call it the “silver lining…” Do me a favor and remember a few things today. Actually, go find a mirror, take a deep breath and say these out loud:
*I can do it
*I will get through it
*I’m good
*And no matter what, God is always with me.
(Disclaimer: it doesn’t feel good saying it if you don’t believe it)

Last thing… I had the honor of going to a women’s day program last weekend and a pastor said “if good is good enough for God, then it’s good enough for me.” (See Genesis the 1st chapter for reference lol)
Don’t feel the need to overcompensate how you really feel on the behalf of someone else, and don’t let anyone steal your joy (because that comes from the Lord)! So SMILE! Your mirror is waiting…

Anyway, I love you all and I pray that you have a wonderful weekend. I leave you with this…

Romans 15:13 NLT
I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Thanks again, God bless and One love.
