It’s the Little Things…

Hey Fam,

How’s everything going? I pray that all is well and it’s Friday! I don’t know about you but this week has been pretty interesting…

As humans we learn, we grow, we share experiences while simultaneously perceiving things differently. It’s actually amusing and like I said before… interesting…

Although, as humans we are sometimes numb to the experiences of others, and that can make us… indifferent, ignorant even if we let it. It is because of this that we so easily take for granted the things that we’ve always been able to do.

For example, if I was born knowing how to walk, how to talk, how to see, and how to hear those are not things that I would necessarily pray for on a daily basis because I’ve always been able to do them. It’s become sort of an expectation for me. I expect to wake up, I expect to walk, I expect to talk, I expect to hear, and I expect my vision to be clear (enough lol I wear glasses already).

But what happens when those expectations fail?

Earlier this week, I had an asthma attack. If you’ve been fortunate enough to never experience this, an asthma attack is similar to breathing through a coffee stirrer during exercising… Obviously you still remember how to breathe, and you want to breathe, but the airways are inflamed (and can be filled with secretions). These are the paths that carry air to your lungs and without clear paths, you aren’t breathing properly.

Last week I didn’t pray for the ability to breathe, because I sort of took it for granted… expected it even… but oh how that changed with one (more) experience. So I urge you to see the little things a little differently…

Grasping the totality of God’s magnificence in your daily life and recognizing that you didn’t have to wake up the way you did this morning. Sure, we have other problems, but at the end of the day are they bigger than life itself? Would you trade any of your (expected) abilities for the solution to one? Think about it… Anyway I pray that you all have a lovely weekend! I love you all and I leave you with this…

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NLT
16 Always be joyful. 17 Never stop praying. 18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

Thanks again, God bless and One love.
