Batter Up

Hey Fam,

It’s been a while! I pray you all had a great start to February and that your week is going fantastic!

You ever been having a mediocre day, then something happens and you feel like someone literally breathed pure oxygen through your lungs? The heaviness in your breathing no longer exists, you can sit up straight, and you feel ready to take on the world.

I have people in my life who do that for me constantly. A message, a quick phone call, a voice note, a tweet (or 50 of them lol)… it’s something about hearing words of encouragement, optimism, and wisdom that turn the darkest picture over exposed.

So here I am to return what they so easily give me. My advice, STEP UP TO THE PLATE! I know so many people who applaud the direction of my life as if the thought of them following their dreams was crazy talk. It’s not! As a former softball player I know how scary the plate can be at first, you can be determined and anxious, well coached and under practiced, over confident… but there’s something about a strike that humbles you quick (haha). The more you stand there though, the more you learn. Example, if I swing this bat at the right moment and I hit it with the “sweet part” of my bat, I won’t feel the vibration of the bat through my arms and I won’t see the ball until it’s almost over the fence. Standing at the plate also let’s me know something else, that I’m still in the game.

There will be times in our life when we strike out, when we get caught trying to steal bases and when the distance from 1st to home seems like more than 180 feet. Hang in there, you can’t strike out forever. Trust me! Plus… pray! Prayer changes things. If you remember nothing else from this post, please remember that! Anyway, I’m being summoned lol… so until next time, I pray that you all have a wonderful weekend. I love you all, and I leave you with this…

Proverbs 15:29 NLT
The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayers of the righteous.

Thanks again, God bless and One love.
