Hey Fam,
It’s Friday eve (as my friends like to say), I pray your week has been filled with good, wholesome love and you’ve been operating in your purpose. Thank you for coming back to the “Over It” series. Let’s get started!
So many times we hear about faith, and belief, and purpose, and sometimes I think that there’s a misconception that when you’re operating in these things, that everything will come to you… Easy. I’m here today to debunk that myth!
When we travel the road of life, nobody ever tells us that it will be simple, and simply because we have decided to change our lifestyles doesn’t mean that is going to be easy… I’d like to believe that it gets easier, if we use the tools that we are given the correct way. That being said we still have to show endurance and we still have to sacrifice for what we really want.
If what we really want is purpose, then we have to be willing to give some things up, and sometimes that might mean peace. I believe that we have different versions of what peace means to us, but nevertheless it may need to be sacrificed. My version of peace could be taking a long drive down the coast of California, my peace could be watching Game of Thrones on Sunday nights, my peace could be sleeping in till 10 a.m., but what happens if I have to sacrifice those things in order to walk in my purpose. Am I willing to stay up and not watch TV, am I willing to focus wholeheartedly on what I have been called to do, am I willing to invest in myself.
The answer is… YOU HAVE TO BE!
Yes it’s important that other people invest in you, yes it’s important that other people believe in you, but there’s nothing more powerful than somebody wanting to be attached to you because of the confidence that you display in yourself. (Not in yourself per se, but in your belief of what God can do with you) Because of the investment that you are willing to make in yourself, and because of the changes you are willing to make in order to fully walk in your purpose.
When talking about purpose as it relates to God, we’re talking about His WILL being reflected and with that, we have to understand that sometimes we will get sent to places that we don’t want to go! If we’re truly walking in our purpose then we must be obedient to the call.
Being uncomfortable is not easy!
But in order to really Really REALLY get to where we need to go, we must be willing to be used. And simply knowing that could shake up your peace! Although, when you think about the end (reaching the goal or reaching a stop on the road that had been a goal for so long), you realize that, that lack of peace was worth it! In those moments! The peace that you hold in those moments…I really believe that it makes up for the lack of peace in the others.
So, in those hard places… Are you willing to give up your peace… And how much of it are you willing to sacrifice? Let’s talk about it!
Anyway, I pray you have a lovely rest of the week, and an incredible weekend. I love you all and I leave you with this…
Romans 8:28-30 NLT
28And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
29For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.
30And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory.
Thanks again, God bless and One love.
