Today is Thanksgiving and what better way to spend it than with friends and family!?! I know that many of you will read this after today so I pray your week went well and that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
So a few weeks ago I was teaching a few kids about shooting candid expressions/black and white photography. I’m not a pro, but I dabble enough to teach a beginner hungry for knowledge.
A few days ago I was looking through the camera roll and I happened to catch a picture of myself. I was looking away from the camera and my eyes were smiling, it was pretty cool and I asked who took the picture…
When people ask what you’re thankful for, sometimes it’s hard to look past current situations and you find yourself mumbling something cliché like, for life. While you may very well be happy and thankful to be alive there are thousands of things to be thankful for on a daily basis.
So after that picture situation the other day, I find myself extremely thankful for my ability to inflict positive change on the next generation. I didn’t ask to be a mentor, but it sort of fell in my lap. Kids see what I’m doing and what I stand for and they’re intrigued, just like I’m intrigued by the people I look up to. That is a huge responsibility and yet I find myself thankful that I’m even trusted with such an honor.
Anyways Fam, I pray that you all have an incredible weekend. I ask that as you enjoy your loved ones that you say a prayer for those who are not as fortunate. Who couldn’t be with their families by circumstance or the Native Americans who are currently fighting daily to preserve their water and their land. And to truly think over the things you are thankful for. I love you all and I leave you with this…
