Am I Stalling the Promise?

Hey Fam,

It’s Monday afternoon and has been a great day thus far! I pray that you all are well!

Sooo this week we’ll be discussing promise… Promise is so important in our lives because it’s one of the things in which we constantly seek to have fulfilled.
For example, when you were a kid and your mom told you that if you got straight A’s then you’d get $20. Okay cool, I got straight A’s, so I have fulfilled my end of the promise and now I’m waiting for my mom to pay me the $20 she promised me.
How long am I expected to wait for her to fulfill her end of the promise? Well, we never discussed time lines for payment. Also, did I wait patiently for her to deliver the money or was I taunting my siblings, being disrespectful, and complaining about my chores in the mean time?
Basically what I’m saying is that we will sometimes stall the blessing of our promises and then complain when it takes longer to get here.
Actually, another example is the children of Israel… who were rescued from slavery but never got to see the promise land because they lacked trust, faith, and obedience to their part of the promise…

So we have to ask ourselves (pray about it really), am I the reason why I haven’t received the promise? Or am I simply in a season where I am supposed to wait?

Back in July, I spoke about one of my promises to you (proof of the book), but that promise was only contingent upon the promise of God (I’ll actually discuss this further on Thursday). Anyway, I love you all and pray that you all have a wonderful week. I leave you with this…

Numbers 23:19 NLT

God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?

Thanks again, God bless and One love.
