I’m baaaaack! And oh how I have missed you =(, but I seriously needed the last two weeks to get it together! Beginning next week we will be back to our previous schedule (fingers crossed) of Monday and Thursday post! Enough about me though, how has everyone been? I pray that you all have been great!
Sooo today I wanted to talk about… Joy! You ever have something happen in your life that makes you blissful, and then you get around other people with negative vibes radiating from their being? What typically happens is, their negativity begins to rub off on you and the joy you once possessed slowly begins to go away.
On the other hand! You ever been around someone supportive and optimistic with the same feeling? Your cheeks will probably hurt from smiling!
The point is, we can’t allow other people to dictate how we feel. The world didn’t give me my joy, so why would I let the world take it away?
I wasn’t even headed in this direction, but there’s a song by Jonathan McReynolds called “Smile,” and the hook goes:
“I can’t help but smile
‘Cause I realize what You’ve done for me
All those battles You’ve won for me
And that someday soon You will come for me
I can’t help but sing
‘Cause you already gave me the victory
And no pain, and no hurt and no misery
Can take away my smile”
At the end of the song he says, “The world didn’t give it
The world can’t take it away
Yeah the world doesn’t get it
But the world’s gonna see it today”
There is no point in which we should let another person take away the joy that we have diligently sought out. Stuff happens! And I get it, because I know! But I also know how different the process is if I praise my way through the difficult situations!
So where ever you are, stay focused on the promises of God! He will NOT fail you, and just rejoice because our problems don’t last forever! I dare you to smile today, through it all…
If you get a chance, try to listen to the song! I love you all soooo much and I pray you have a great day and a blessed weekend! I leave you with this…
Romans 15:13 NLT
I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Thanks again, God bless and One love.
