It’s Monday afternoon! I pray that you all had an incredible weekend and that you are having an incredible day.
Mondays for the most part are kind of Blah, right? We sometimes wake up with this “back at it again” mentality… but that might be because we are lacking a sense of urgency.
No one ever wakes up thinking, today could be my last morning, but that doesn’t dismiss the very real possibility that it could be. Every day is a gift! One that shouldn’t be taken for granted and shouldn’t be used to skirt responsibilities. When we wake up in the morning it should be with a now is the time type of attitude. Actually, it should be with a, the time was two weeks ago attitude and I need to catch up. Where is our sense of urgency?
We need purpose. We talk all the time about discovering our purpose and using it. Enhancing it and sharing it. We need focus. We need to be able to concentrate and stay on track. We need an it’s already too late type of mind frame. Having this mindset will ultimately enhance our sense of urgency and will us to get things done…
Having that sense of urgency is the difference between someone with natural talent and someone who has to work to learn something. A person with a natural ability to do something is always going to be good at whatever that something is. A person who has to work to learn it because they desire to will be great at it. Only because their work ethic to figure it out and get it done will be that much harder. Now an individual with natural ability and incredible work ethic… that person is unstoppable. Which one are you?
If now isn’t the time… then when is? Like I said before, tomorrow isn’t promised and today is a gift. When you wake up, thank God, then go. We shouldn’t be stressed about doing the things aligned with our purpose.(That line is definitely for me. I’m pretty much talking to myself there.) And we also don’t want to wake up one day and realize that… it is too late. If you love playing around more than you love working then you’re always going to play around. If you love sleep then that’s all you’re ever going to want to do. But if you love what you’re called to do and it aligns with God’s plan… how can you fail? Plus, that’s beautiful!
All I’m saying is, days are too precious to dread. Be excited about what time you have and use it to your advantage. I pray you all have a wonderful week! I love you all and I leave you with this…
Proverbs 20:13 NLT
If you love sleep, you will end in poverty. Keep your eyes open, and there will be plenty to eat!
Thanks again, God bless and One love.
