You made it to Friday! I pray you all had a wonderful week!
I have many, MANY siblings and at some points in my life (for 5 second intervals), I thought about how it would be to not have had them around… but that was UNTHINKABLE! Sure they drive me nuts sometimes, but I wouldn’t trade them for anything… I’ve narrowed down the reasons why:
1. There’s never a dull moment
Growing up there was always something to do! Who knew what boredom was? From having water balloon fights to playing water balloon baseball to having the worst “best dressed” contest and making the most under budgeted music videos, we used to tools allotted to us and we made the most of it!
2. There’s always someone else to blame
Ahhh. The hierarchy of getting in trouble. If we decide to do something together and we mess up something nice or we get caught… blame it on the youngest one lol they typically get away with more. Plus they’re the “baby” and no one wants to punish the “baby”! The youngest always get away with MURDER!
3. They’re your biggest cheerleader
No matter how many times you decide to change your major, your career choice, or your lifestyle, they have your back… Maybe not all of them, but once again there are so many of them that you feel supported lol
They don’t complain about how much you bother them to ask how something looks or sounds or if they just have a minute to read over something… they have truly been a blessing to me during this process…
4. They have babies when you aren’t ready for them lol
Nieces and nephews are AWESOME! The best part is… you can give them back when you’re overwhelmed! I’ve never been one of those “I was created for motherhood” type of women, but experiencing the love, joy, and effortlessness of their interactions make me want to possibly have that experience one day…
5. When you need to get away…
There’s always somewhere to crash! Now that we’re a little older and live different lifestyles, if I need to get away, I have a couple of state options. (I should really use this more) Knowing that because we rarely see each other I will be greeted with open arms and a warm plate of food… at least dinner at a nice restaurant =)
6. The one you’re with the most is the one that gets on your nerves the most
Siblings are ANNOYING! Only because they understand how to make you tick, they know your secrets, and they have been alongside many of your journeys. When you’re with them after a while, all you think about is how much they annoy you. But just go a month, a week, even a day without seeing them and then everyone is all “I miss you!” (BTW I REALLY do miss you all! Except the one sitting right her… side eye lol)
7. Silence is…
Overrated! Everyone has an opinion about your life lol but at the end of the day, they’ll be there to help pick you up if you fall (I hope this isn’t only my siblings)
Bottom line… I look to my siblings for guidance. There are situations they’ve experienced that I haven’t. The knowledge they can provide allows for me to have less missteps when it’s time for me to walk a similar path…I wouldn’t change the way I grew up because it shaped me into who I am and because the memories are endless. And to my unborn child (or children) sorry kid, I can’t provide you with this experience lol I couldn’t imagine having over 6 kids!!!
Anyway I hope that if you don’t have siblings, you have close friends or family that you’ve been able to share these experiences with! Love them and cherish them! I love you all and pray you have a great weekend… and a Happy Easter… I leave you with this…

Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God
Thanks again, God bless and One love.
