The Disconnect

Hey Fam,

It’s Thursday! One day to the weekend! I pray that everything is going well!!!

So a few months ago I was talking to my friend/sister/low key mentor, Amber about a friendship of mine that I was no longer sure about. During our discussion, I expressed my displeasure at the way the relationship was headed and that maybe I needed to slowly back away. She listened, and then she explained to me that as an adult we have 3 different types of relationships. One relationship is where you and the other person are on the same level. The next is when the other person pours into you. The third is when you pour into the other person. It’s important to have a balance of relationships. So I listened, and then I prayed for a response as to what I should do…

At the same time… during my journey I’ve noticed that sometimes elevation requires separation. Sometimes it’s a conscious decision and other times you’re so focused on the journey you didn’t notice that you had “pulled away”. You’ll get that random “you forgot all about me” call, and no I didn’t, I’m just not in the same place I was before. I’ve moved… In the end though, God will end relationships that we aren’t meant to be in…our job is to stop trying to open up doors that He’s closed.

Anyway, I love you all and I pray you all have incredible weekends! I leave you with this…

Proverbs 2:8-10 NLT

8He guards the paths of the just
and protects those who are faithful to him.
9 Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair, and you will find the right way to go.
10 For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy.

Thanks again, God bless and One love.
