Season or Reason?

Hey Fam!

Hope your week is going great! Tomorrow is Christmas so there’s that!!! And today is my dad’s birthday sooo turn up!

So sorry for the late post, I’ve been traveling with family for most of the day so it’s been pretty crazy and I finally have a quiet moment so here it goes…

I’m not particularly fond of the holidays per say. And before you label me the grinch, let me explain. Christmas itself isn’t the problem, the consumerism of Christmas is what bothers me. Never should there be Christmas sales right after “Halloween.” And I shouldn’t have to be exposed to videos like the one of an adult snatching a vegetable steamer away from a child. It’s like people have lost their minds on a quest to save $25. And if I hear the words “Christmas Sale” again I might scream lol. The older I get, the more I realize that the fantasy of Christmas is just that… a fantasy. All the consumerism of Christmas and the illusion of Santa Claus is just used to depict this fantasy of the unknown. For youth, to give them another thing to believe in, and for adults to feed off the excitement of the youth. When did we lose sight of what Christmas really represents?

I wonder if some children even know the story of the birth of Jesus. Or I wonder have they seen or read it so many times that there’s a detachment. Most importantly, I wonder if the tales of a fictional man with a full beard overshadows the birth of our Savior. Over dramatic?

So last week Jordyn was trying to explain the meaning of Christmas to her son and he asked her, “Mom, if it’s Jesus’s birthday, why do we get presents?” Hmmm… good question lol who came up with that idea?… like I said before, I’m not a Grinch, I just don’t appreciate the way society goes about Christmas in general.

I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Christmas tomorrow!!! Hug and Kiss all those close and dear to you! I love you all and I leave you with this…

Luke 2:11 NLT

The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!

Thanks again, God bless and One love.
