I pray that all is well…
I was searching for something to write but I find that my emotions are all over the place. Sad, Happy, Excited… Contemplative.
Sooo I decided write about that! Quick story, so the other day I’m talking to my friend whose a therapist. Okay side track, it’s really difficult for me to talk to therapist and psychologist bc I always think they’re trying to psycho-analyze me lol and I don’t want anyone trying to understand the organized randomness that takes place in my head… back on task. Anyway, so I’m talking to my friend lol and I’m telling her about this situation that happened to me and she sort of gave me a suggestion on how to deal with things when I’m whelmed. (Please don’t quote me on this lol this is what I got out of the convo).
So women tend to have thoughts that run together like a bowl of spaghetti, emotions and thoughts connecting that otherwise wouldn’t. (Which is probably why a conversation about hair ends with the last song you’ve listened to or where you child goes to daycare haha)
Where as men have thoughts like a waffle. They have compartments that they can place certain feelings or situations, until they need to bring one to the forefront.
Regardless of how your mind works though, the question we should be asking is… what can I do now or what should I be focused on now? The truth of the matter is that we can’t change what happened in the past but we can control how we deal with the present…
So… I have all these lingering feelings but at this very moment I choose to be happy and excited. I’m excited because mi Padre graduates from college tomorrow. I’m excited because it’s the birthday of two of the greatest women I’ve ever known for two totally different reasons. And I’m happy bc… I don’t have a reason not to be… I cannot change the past, I cannot beat myself down with “what ifs”. Life is what it is.
The great parts, the difficult parts, the regrets… it’s like that bowl of spaghetti. So dear friends, I urge you to grab on to whatever part of happiness you have and don’t let go. Continue to grow that happiness. I love you all (thanks for reading this randomness) and I leave you with this…
Romans 8:28 NLT
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
Thanks again, God bless and One love.
