What’s good Fam!
I would like to start today by once again thanking all the Veterans! And as usual I pray that everyone’s week has been going well.
So as promised, the pic today is one of the shirt designs that will be released on the 29th of this month at the show I’ll be doing! I’ll have the flyer for that up ASAP (and I hope to see you there!) But I felt that it was only right to explain why it even matters.
About two months ago I was listening to a poet by the name of Imani Rhema (she’ll be at UPCLOSE & Poetry live on Nov. 22!) And she was speaking about being honest as poets. If we hide ourselves then what good is our talent? That stuck with me… it even encouraged me to write a piece called “Behind those Shades” which basically explains why I wear them all the time. (Which I might do on the 29th lol idk yet)Back on topic!
Anyway during my brief journey, lately, I have become increasingly aware of the things I allow to come out of my mouth, knowing that what I speak has power. Especially when I’m talking to other people. Words can empower, but words can also destroy… so I have made a decision to ask people to speak responsibly. Be accountable for the words that come out of your mouth. Are you speaking life? Or are you repeating nonsense? Are the things you recite even from you or are you merely repeating other people’s ideas?
It is imperative that we know who we are and that what we say reflects that. Your thoughts become words, your words become actions. If we think responsibly, we will speak responsibly, and our actions will reflect that.
Please Speak Responsibly is essentially asking individuals to be mindful of what they say as there is power in the tongue. I want nothing more than to speak life and assist in healing others through my words and bring them to Christ. And I pray everyday that I live in the truth that I profess. I love you all and I leave you with this, the scripture at the bottom of the phrase…
Proverbs 12:18 (NLT)
Some people make cutting remarks, but the words of the wise bring healing.
Thanks again, God bless and One love.
