It’s Monday again! I hope that your weekend was blessed and I pray that your week is as well!
I’m not even going to speak this into existence, but I will say that my body isn’t cooperating the way it should be right now lol so I’m trying to take it easy on my day off. Even though that consists of writing, reading, memorizing, teaching, designing and making t-shirts. (Not sure I really understand the concept of a day off…) Anyway… let’s chat about prayer.
I encounter a lot of people who say, “I don’t know how to pray.” My response to that is, “Yes. Yes you do!” In simplest terms, prayer is just a conversation between you and God. I think the issue comes from hearing others pray and then individuals believe that their prayer has to sound the same. Let me stop you right now… it doesn’t! Please believe me when I say that my relationship with Christ is just that… mine! Just like yours is yours. So when you hear others praying a certain way or what you think is considered “good,” it’s because they have taken time to develop that level of prayer and that relationship with God. And my prayer is not always super deep. Sometimes I just like sending up a quick prayer in thanks! And other times, yeah, that really deep alone time is needed. But please stop telling yourself that you don’t pray well enough! Just like God hears me, he hears you as well!
My mom isn’t perfect by any means, but my mom is a prayer!!! If I know nothing, I know that! It’s one of the things that I feel she instilled in me from a very young age. So thanks mom! My problem is that I am VERY uncomfortable praying for others out LOUD! If you want prayer I’ll smash it when I’m alone lol but when others are around uhhh yeah moving on… (I promise I’m getting better though!)
Bottom line, and then I’m finished… prayer will change your mindset, prayer changes lives, and prayer will change your situation! So when you’re happy, pray! When you’re sad, pray! When you’re frustrated, pray! When you feel lonely and forgotten, PRAY! God knows your situation, and if he brought you to it, he’ll bring you through it! Just Believe! I love you all, but more importantly so does God! So friends and fam, I leave you with this…
James 5:13-15 NLT
13 Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray. Are any of you happy? You should sing praises. 14 Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven.
Thanks again, God bless and One love.
