Times, Locations & Situations

Happy Thursday Fam!
I hope your week has been going great thus far! Just one more day to go until the weekend!
I actually write to you all with a heavy heart after finding out someone I knew was involved in an accident and is currently in critical condition. Although I am not (for lack of a better term) “close” with this person, hearing of such tragedies is still heartwrenching.
I already knew what I wanted to write to you all but finding out this information sort of solidified my decision (I don’t take writing anything to you all lightly). So my question to you is why is it easier to pray when something happens than when everything is going great? I pray everyday but it’s something about really needing something from God that used to boost my need to pray… my need to know that he’s hearing me… which is pretty messed up!!!
I have learned over the past few months to praise him regardless. I praise Him when I’m up for his grace and mercy and when I’m down because I know He won’t ever leave me. I know that He gave me one more day to get it right, and that, I won’t EVER take for granted.
This past weekend I was talking to my little sis (if you read my bio or were ever in Spanish 1 in HS with me then you know there are a zillion of them lol) and during the course of our conversation she read me a poem she wrote. I liked the words so I made her read it to me twice. Then I decided to share it with you all (with her permission of course)

Will It Make A Difference?

Someone once challenged me
About my love for God
We had a conversation
And it went like this
What if you found out
He wasn’t dark colored
He didn’t have wooly hair
He wasn’t hung on a cross
But he did die for our sins
Would you still love him
Feet filthy
Charcoal colored
Clothes of a peasant
Homeless
Would you still love him
Disfigured face
Torn up clothes
Scratches and bruises
Would you still love him
Or do you only love him because
The way he is portrayed in those pictures
My answer was yes
I would still love him
Because he beats in my chest
Flows through my veins
And something about us is the same
They say he is a man of many faces
I don’t care
Because even when I had
Faith of a mustard seed
He was always there
They say how can you love a man that you can’t see
I replied because he first loved me
He lets me walk, talk, and breath
So I’ll love him
Even if it takes all of me
I love my G.O.D.

My short answer, will it make a difference? No. Will I still love him? Yes! It’s crazy how hard it will be to not love Him at this point! So how much do you thank God for what you have?

I hope you have a lovely weekend and I pray that God send his angels to be camped around and about you as well as your family as you all make your ways over the highways and byways. I leave you with this…

Psalm 34:1-6 NLT
I will praise the Lord at all times.
I will constantly speak his praises.
2 I will boast only in the Lord;
let all who are helpless take heart.
3 Come, let us tell of the Lord’s greatness; let us exalt his name together.
4 I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me.
He freed me from all my fears.
5 Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy;
no shadow of shame will darken their faces.
6 In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened;
he saved me from all my troubles.

Thanks again, God bless and One love.
