Hey Fam,

I pray that you are all doing well…

I write to you all with an extremely heavy heart… A friend of mine passed away Friday night. I’m not going to be super extra like the posts on fb (which angered me a little, so I stopped checking my news feed) and sugar coat our friendship. I will say this though… he was the type of person who could get you to smile. He was one of those people that you WANTED to have in your corner. He was the type of person that you WANTED to take a try on. He was the son of a woman important to me… Our last “serious” convo, we talked about poetry (my favorite =)), we talked about life, we talked about the future and what we wanted for our lives…

Whenever we lose someone, we sometimes have a feeling of unfinished business. Especially when that loss is abrupt. Was our last convo a good one? Were we in a good place? Sometimes we feel like we never really got to tell them everything we wanted to…

To his family… I’m extremely sorry for your loss, but so very blessed that I knew him at all. Just know that you all are in my prayers and please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need to.

To everyone else… cherish life and your loved ones. I love you all and I leave you with this…
