What is the UNPOPULAR Movement?

Great question, I’m glad you asked lol. The UNPOPULAR Movement is just a group of individuals who believe that life is about choosing to live righteously, regardless of what the world says. It’s about knowing who you are and being confident enough to walk in your purpose. It’s about choosing to walk the path that God has created for you. It’s about being who you were created to be…

Why I choose to label myself UNPOPULAR?

Well, because everything about me is “weird.” I walk around in beanies in 90 degree weather, I wear “shades” all the time (which people would know were prescription if they asked)and I simply don’t want to be apart of the “cool” crowd if it’s going to effect my relationship with Christ. When I made the decision to follow Christ, a lot of people told me I was different and that I had changed, as if it was a bad thing. I changed a lot of bad habits and that caused some people I used to know to not want to know me anymore… I have learned to be comfortable with who I am and I won’t allow what others deem popular to cause me to change.

Why others choose to take the stance with me?

I don’t know lol… maybe because at some point in life they were placed in a situation that made them feel like that kid eating alone at the lunch table, wishing that someone would come and keep them company. Or maybe because they were told that what interests them wasn’t cool. Everyone who supports the movement shares some commonality of non-conformity.

For them to say something like that at 10, 16, and 12. Come on, not all teenagers are bold enough to say something like that!

Why am I explaining this?

Because this movement isn’t just for adults (as you can see above) and it isn’t just for kids, but it’s for everyone. Did I set out to start a movement initially, no, I simply chose to label myself so others would stop trying to. If I was asked to sum up the movement in one line it would be this, I’d rather be popular with God than the people of this world on any given day, and if that makes me UNPOPULAR then so be it.

Speak responsibly and righteously, dream up the impossible, go do what others deemed impossible and through it all, remain yourself. Encourage your sisters and brothers, activate your self control, walk in confidence, on faith, in your purpose, and proudly label yourself UNPOPULAR.

Matthew 16:26

And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?

Thanks again, God bless and One love.
